Sheffield
Even though it's a month later lol, I went to Sheffield to see a close friend that went to that University. Missed her so much. I like to travel and since I'm in the midlands and out of my parents house (they can't give me an excuse for not going out, they still try ahhha parents will be parents) I might as well explore.
The trip was slightly annoying I got to the station on time but the worker side I couldn't get on the train, so this messed up everything and I had to get a new ticket but that meant waiting an hour and getting to Sheffield at 1:00 in the morning. Also my friend wanted to take me to a club that finished at 3/4.
I also had to go through the experience of changing in the nasty train toilets and doing my makeup ( not foundation and eyeliner full on highlight and contouring) with my tiny mirror. Kind of a bad experience but I say well this is the uni experience.
But I got their ok and overall I enjoyed my stay there, expect when we ordered Chinese and the driver saying he couldn't find our address, blah blah. But we got it in the end. Her friends were nice and made sure I was ok since I didn't know anyone. And I'm not gonna lie like being able to not cook for a while and being told " Yeah take as much as you want I bought this all for you".
One thing I really liked was the accommodation because there's only two main ones, and the one my friend was at is the biggest. Personally I think this is easy when you in first year and your new to the town, so it's easy to make friends and actually meet with them on your own. Compared to my uni were there's 6 student accommodations, which just separates everyone. I also looking at the accommodation, it has a slight Bauhaus feel to it, I can see similar characteristics.
- horizontal windows
- flat roofs
- geometric features
- not decorative
- right angles
- dull colours such as white, black and beige
I like architecture that values simplicity, because I believe less is more.
