I have to use html to create a website for my festival. The easy bit is to design the website.


In this design I was giving a more up beat, party feel by using a picture of the crowd as part of the background; which would be a slider. And a countdown to create excitement for the festival. I used twitter quotes to make it more interactive.


While this design I was focusing more on the feel of house and electric music. Looking at the music websites with the same genre they used simple colours such as black and white. And instead of the usual navigation banner where you click the name, I decided to use a triangle, something linked to the hipster theme. Then the sunset at the bottom to not lose that beach festival feel.

But then having to use tags and codes to create this is difficult, a lot of writing then checking the website to see if it actually produces something, then writing checking the website to see if it actually produces something and repeat . But I'm getting there ....

Framework

After meeting the clients we decide to come up with ideas to how the pages would be laid out. The trend right now is flat design, consisting of solid colours and minimalism. I went with flat design because it suits our audience seeing as we want the app to be simple. These were my ideas, using san serif font to giving it a young feel, as well as having a lot of white space. Located at the bottom is a progress bar, so the user knows what step they are in the app. We then put our ideas together and came up with an official layout, to which I added colour and images. Work Placement: 3 months

It was mentioned this year that we have the opportunity to take on a placement from March to April. I was very happy about this not because I will not have to come in to University ahha, but because it's better to get has much experience as possible. Our careers advice emphasised this as she said the fact that we are University is the best time for this because employers are more willing to help you grow and allow you to make mistakes; compared to you being a graduate their expectation are higher. Also you will be in competition with people that have years of experience.
